Lincoln Peirce, writer and artist of the great “Big Nate” comic which has been in papers over 20 years, and author of five “Big Nate” novels with more in the pipeline, talks about his road to syndication, why he hates drawing cars, how the novels came to be, and all about the new musical that recently had its world premiere!

Tony Carrillo of the wonderful single-panel “F-Minus” is here to talk about his meteoric rise in the cartooning world…3 National Cartoonist Society “Best Panel” nominations in 7 years! Not bad!  He’s up for one again this year, so we talk about where he got his start, how he works, and about just how cool Arizona State University alumni like he and I really are.

And there’s a new Lemon List by the great Jonathan Lemon of “Rabbits Against Magic!” Learn all about the the Big Band leader who was a famous cartoonist, Xavier Cugat!

It’s time to talk with John Sanford, artist and writer of “Chippy and Loopus,” “K and J,” and Dreamworks Animation Director, currently knee deep in season 2 of “Dragons: Riders of Berk.”

“Chippy and Loopus” has a long history and rabid following out there in the webcomics world, with people loving the antics of the angry, foul-mouthed Chippy, and his dull witted but loyal friend “Loopus.” John put “Chippy” on hold for some time, but has re-tooled it and is about to reboot!  Find out why!

BUT FIRST, we start with an interview with the great Jonathan Lemon of “Rabbits Against Magic.”  Lemon recently found out he’s been nominated for a National Cartoonists Society award for Best Online Comic – Short Form.  He’s been producing many an excellent “Lemon List” for my show for some time, and is a good friend, so I couldn’t resist talking to him about his nomination and how it came about!

Dave Blazek, of the brilliant single panel comic, “Loose Parts,” is here to talk about his unorthodox road to syndication, the importance of saying “I could do that better,” and his former life as a stand up comic.  Dave has been in the newspaper industry for over 30 years, and gives us a very cool insider look at the inner workings and future of the newspaper world.  He also talks about why he’s a terrible eraser of lines.

Mike Lester of the most excellent “Mike du Jour” joins me to talk about his political cartooning background, his amazing kids’ books illustration and writing, and his new strip that brings the funny! Jim Horwitz does the great strip “Watson” and he joins me to talk about his journey as a cartoonist and artist, the pros and cons of syndication and the web, and finding your niche as an artist! We get into a great discussion on the world of webcomics and the future for cartoonists, and as we’re both big film fans, we go off on a lightning round at the end on movies and general geekiness!  It’s an epic!
